Spread the Love

Spread the Love

Hey friends, I hope you've been doing well. I know at times the winters can be long and tough, and, well, the past two years in fact have been very difficult for many people.
It's hard to believe it's been nearly two years since this "Rona Virus" as my mommy calls it came into the world. What's been great is since March 2020 I've gotten to see a lot, LOT more of both my mommy and daddy. We've taken many, many walks along with my sister, Josephine, and have taken advantage of all the outdoor splendor Northern Michigan has to offer.
My grandpa would always tell my daddy to "accentuate the positive" and I feel that is a great motto for us to live by as we now approach "post-pandemic" life. More than anything, "hoomans" at times should try to be more like us dogs, and focus more on bringing joy and happiness into people's lives.
With that in mind, here's a few ways you and your dog, like me, can help spread kindness and joy to others courtesy of pethub.com.
• Offer to walk your neighbor's dog the next time you walk yours. I've gone on a few walks with my neighbor, Maggie, and it's been fun to explore the trails with her!!
• Pick up an extra bag of dog treats at the store and give it to the next stranger you see walking their dog.
• Help protect your friends and neighbor's dog if they get lost by giving them a digital ID tag for their pet.
• Use apps like WoofTrax or ResQwalk and make a donation to your favorite rescue of shelter every time you walk your dog. Every little bit helps!
• Help someone else adopt a pet by leaving the full fee amount for an animal or a crate for them at a shelter or rescue. Make sure to ask that they use the donation for a family that is looking to adopt a new furry family member.
• Protect the local parks and neighborhoods by picking up trash when you are out on your walk.
• Donate gently used toys or jackets your dog doesn't use at a local animal rescue.
• Smile when you are out walking your dog!!
If we all do a little bit to help spread good deeds, together we will make a big difference.
Just remember, "Be the person your dog things you are!!"
Love,
Betty.
